I got into my 94 Accord EX today, and when I pressed the clutch I could hear a squeaky noise from the engine block. When I started it up, it drove fine, but ideled at about 2200 RPM instead of the usual 1700ish. I asked someone about it, and they said the clutch may need to have it's linkage lubed, and the IAC Valve may need to be replaced or ajusted. What do you guys think, and how much will this cost me. Keep in mind, I'll have to have someone else do it, because I don't even know how to change my oil.

car shouldn't be idling anywhere above around 800rpm. It sounds kind of weird, does it happen everytime you pull out the clutch, or was it a one time occurance. A squeak from the clutch pedal doesn't sound too uncommon.......sometimes it may sound like it's coming form the engine. Anyhow, the IAC valve while possible (ESPECIALLY if you're car is running 1700rpm at idle - unless you're talking while its' warming up). is unlikely. If you're talking about when the car first warms up, as high as 2500rpm is more than likely to be seen and is mostly normal, especially with the colder weather.

I think your car is probably just fine.
