I Have Added A Mobile Audio Video System To My Truck And I Am Quite Pleased. I Will Note I Dont Have Block Rockin Beats But The Sound Quality Inside Is Pretty Good.
Head Unit : Alpine CVA-1003
DVD Player : Pyle PLTVD-91
Door And Rear Speakers : Factory
Amp : Sony
Subs : 2 10" Kenwoods
Box : Custom Made
Videos : http://www.krazyvideoz.com
I Dont Know The Model On My Amp Or Subs I Just Went Into Circuit City And Bought Em I Know It Was Under 250 For Both Subs And The Amp. The Box Isnt That Great The Carpet Covers Alot Of The Flaws Me And My Friend Designed It And Constructed And Installed It In Under 24 Hours We Were Rushing It. Kind Of Sloppy. Here Is Some Pictures Of My Setup. Sorry For You I Am Too Lazy To Flip The Box Up To Get Photo Of The Subs They Fire Downward. The Bottom Of The Box Is Set About 1.5" Off The Accual Floor.

how much bass do you want? do want better sound are do you want to rock the block? the kenwoods are excellent for sound quality, and at their price, they can't be beat. If you want serious thump, then cough up some serious $$$$$ and get some alpine R-12s. 12 inches, i believe 300 watt rms and 1000 watt max. they're so good some other punk decided he needed them more than me, so invest in a good alarm too.

I installed a Directed Audio Comp X 12" subwoofer reverse mounted into a .33cu/ft box. The box was custom made using base/clear paint to match the truck's paint. Man does it rock. People think I have 3 10's or 2 12's in there. The funny thing is that you can't really see much even with the rear doors open. You just see what looks like part of the truck.

I installed some Aura Bass shakers in my 90 Ext. Cab. Got em on ebay for about $40 bucks, and picked upa a50 watt amp for about $30...installed them under the two front seats, and away I went. Easy, inexpensive, and very effective. Granted, they won't rattle any windows, but it enhanced my truck! I found a place that has some info on them...check it out if interested.

this is what i have. just an 1800 watt legacy amp, and two 700watt 10" premier subs does the trick nicely.

Actually, my demo '02 Silverado had you beat. 4-Directed Plasma screens, DVD,VCR,PS2,XBox, 4 wireless headphones with ability to listen to different sources than the rest, Directed 2-10" CompX dual vc subs, 2400d Directed amp for subs and 4500 Directed amp for the Directed componets in front and back. The head unit was the only cheaper spot. I got rid of the Pioneer 7400 and went with the JVC unit with multi input controls and screen savers. Everything was motorized to the Python alarm/remote starter so you could activate and roll out componets via remote control or buttons on the console. You could even program the alarm/remote start from the screens!
The nice thing was that you couldn't really see anything when everything was closed up. The bad thing was that I sold the truck before I had taken any pictures so unfortunately I have none to post. My currant demo car is a Jeep Liberty but I do not plan to go that wild on it. I just have a small Directed amp running one CompX 12".

Yeah well, I am trying to get it in a magazine so a lot of people will get to see it. I personally loved it. It was a nice clean, hard hitting machine. It didn't pound real hard but was a respectable 147.3 db. The clarity of the system was the nice thing. Who knows what I'll do next. Hopefully I won't get too bored and go crazy. If I do, that means that I am not busy which = no money being made!!!! :banghead:

Have you considered the Kicker square solo baric subs? I'll be the first to tell you, there's not a lot of room in a truck period-for subwoofers, unless you want to remove your back seat. About the largest you are going to be able to go is an 8 or a 10 under the rear bench seat. Why I suggested the solo barics is becuase they are designed to be used in a sealed enclosure not much bigger than the speaker itself. Crutchfield carries all types of prefabricated custom fit boxes for extended cab trucks. You can even join the boxes together with an optional amp rack. I'm not sure if these boxes are cut with a square opening or not. I'm assuming that you are going to replace the factory radio. Please do so. Although a lot of amplifiers made today will infact accept high input signals (speaker leads), they are really designed for low noise RCA inputs. Besides, the factory Delco CD/tape/radio whatever, has a circuit built inside of it that will shut off the bass response to the factory speakers at high volume levels. WHY DO I KNOW THIS-BECAUSE I TRIED IT. Just break down and buy a nice aftermarket radio. They are really easy to install, and your ears will thank you for it.
