A 350 V8 is a SMALL block V8. 350 is a 5.7L V8. A 454 (7.4L) would be a big block.
As to whether it will fit in your truck, the 4.3L is a 90 degree block V6, and is essentially a 350 minus two cylinders; Notice that 3/4 of 7.4 is 3.4. Look at the space in your engine block (if you have a 4.3L) and tell me if YOU think you can shoehorn another two cylinders in there.
I'm not familiar with the engine mounts, but it's possible that it would reasonably fit with frame modifications, as it would just be a longer version of that engine.

I saw an S10 made into a dually once with the factory extended cab, and a 454 squished into it, it was in Michigan when I saw it, and it was just awesome !!!!!!!!!!!
