hey guys....i have a base rsx ... the thing is that i want to put turbo on it...only one problem...i never liked manual (no offense) so i have automatic version of it. Should i get a gear ratio controller to make the gear ratios better and prevent more power loss over to the wheel as manual does? and i m thinkin about rev hard stage 2 turbo kit....please tell me what i should do...

Alright, first of all, if you plan on racing your car, you better like manual tranny's. I'm not snapping on you, cause we're in the exact same boat, only my boat is moving. I have a stage I turbo with the base RSX and i can tell you that if you plan on getting a stage II turbo kit, you better improve your tranny first. Honda's have incrediable engines, but their tranny's aren't as strong. The stock tranny on the base model is slightly weaker than the Type S, however, it can handle a stage I turbo for a while. It will not handle a stage II turbo as long at all. Any boost is a big strange on the tranny so remember that....slipping WILL occur and that builds up heat, and heat will murder ur tranny. Now with the turbo itself, you'll have to use the shiftronic and engage each gear like a manual, meaning, upshift using the shiftronic and time the change. While doing this you're gonna have to let off the throttle so that the gear changes. This is the safest way to maintain your tranny. If you just hit the gas and have the gear shift, slipping will occur and u'll know it. On the track when i don't use shiftronic, the revlimiter kicks in every time, and i never leave 2nd gear....what's happening is that the torque converter is locking up allowing the gears to shift, but the engine continues to rev and the tranny can't engage; since the engine continues to rev, the revlimiter kicks in once in the red.

I don't know about a gear ratio controller, I only know how the car will drive with the turbo. Stage II, good choice, i want to upgrade mine. HOwever, the tranny has to get upgraded first.

For the tranny, go to www.levelten.com
For another option with a turbo kit, go to www.cybernationmotorsports.com

peace.
