Greetings,
My name is Joshua Shea and I am a writer working on a piece regarding OnStar for the online site Bankrate.com. I'm looking for some first-person stories of people who have the OnStar system that aren't the packaged ones the company would send me.
You don't need to have had your dying grandmother locked in the car, or been carjacked by terrorists. I just want to know if people who have Onstar have had to use it, what they've used it for, and if they think it is worth the money.
I'm not looking specifically for positive, or negative stories. I just want to hear from people regarding the system.
My deadline is the beginning of next week, so I'd certainly appreciate any comments as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Joshua Shea

Hope this gets to you in time. I have it in the wife's '01 Pontiac Montana. It's well worth the money! It has much better range than a standard cell phone, and I can talk on it even going over the passes in the North Cascade Mountains. (I live in WA state)
We've used it to unlock the doors, communicate when our hand-held cell phones wouldn't reach out, and even had the PCM codes read remotely by OnStar while sitting in a parking lot, and the SES light had come on.
It is the best insurance policy I've ever seen. When the wife is with our kids, if she has a problem she can call for help pronto.
