Hi guys. My brakes were squeaking and i didn't know wat was wrong. I thought it was the new pads but i think its not. Went to midas today any they said i need a new rotor and some brake hardware and pads. Shit and cost is like 370!!!! Fu**!! He said that my rotors are to thin and below specs. Thats why the brakes are squeaking cuz its getting very hot. Help me out. Wat should i do. I probably ask my dad for some money, wat rotors should i get. Should i get what the tech guy wants to get?

You said you have new pads so why would the tech guy say you need new pads again?

i have a similiar question too....okay...my friend comes up to me today and says he is changing new pads.....and he said that the infiniti dealer will charge him $600canadian to do it?....i was like
"what the hell?..y is it that expensive?".....i want to persuade him not to go there and just go get some performance pads and sand the roters....and that stupid guy wont listen...he said infiniti told him they`ll do some special treatment to the roters, so that`s y it`s that expensive....WTF...how do i persuade him???...
....his car: 2000` infiniti I30t

Yes Infinity does share Max's brake pads. Just did a brake job on an I30 last weekend. We used the Max pads from Nissan. They were a few $$$ cheaper then Infinity wanted.
As far as a "SPECIL PROCESS FOR ROTORS" the ony thing you can do to rotors is resurface them. 60 bucks US at Nissan. Your buddy is getting the :finger:SHAFT:finger: big time.

you went to MIDAS???? WHAT WERE U THINKING???
if you've put alot of miles on those rotors, or had them resurfaced more than 2 times before, your rotors are 'probably' getting thin..in this case, you'd need to buy a new set of rotors. you can buy Brembo OEM replacement rotors for little bit cheaper than buying directly from dealers or from MIDAS. they will probably insist on using their own cuz..well, that's how they make money. the rotors should range from $75-80ea. pads..well, you can get the pads for around $40.
SO! if you'd need to change ALL 4 ROTORS....that'd be like $320(for all 4 rotors)+$160(for 4 sets of pads)+labor=about $500...
BUT~!! i'm guessing the quote of $370 is just for the two fronts of just one side...in that case, tell them to shove it up their rear and look for other shops.
