2 kills in 2 days

Last week, me and my friend were coming home from work. He's got a 03 Mazda MP5, those hatchback looking 4 door station wagons, whatever they are with that gEy automatic/"stick" trans.. Anyways, it's a 2 liter engine, 150 hp or something like that. So he was talking shit about how "civics suck" the whole time at work. He said if I beat him, he'd get headers and a cold air intake. I don't have a lot really, I/H/E and some other minor mods, a jap spec d15b7. It was about 12 at night, so the streets were totally empty, and we know where the cops usually park. We lined up at the first light right next to each other. As soon as the light turned green, he floors his pedal. We stay close, about half way through first. I gained about a car lenght by the time I hit second. I pulled about 3-4 car lenghts away by the time I got to 60. He still hasn't gotten his headers or intake. I gotta admit, that was a slow ass car though. Didn't even try to race him again after that. His gay ass response was "this is stupid, we should find a place with lots of curves and race"
Second one was the following night. This time he was with me in the car. We were coming home from work again, so it was around 12 pm again. I passed an intersection, and this SI turned and came the same way I was going. I passed a truck, and the SI stayed right behind me. I let it pass, didn't feel like racing after 8 hours of work. Well, the next light turned red and I lined up next to it. I looked over and there was this bitch, probably weighed more than me and my friend combined, looked at me and just turned her head back to the street in front of her. I don't know what kind of mod's she had, but it was all riced up, with altezza tail lights, white 16s and those gay ass universal spoilers that make the car look like it's about to take off for another country. Like I said, I wasn't feeling like racing, but when it turned green, she thought that I was gonna race and just burned the tires. I started out real slow, cuz I didn't think she was gonna race, but once she was about a car length ahead, I put it in second and floored it. I slowly caught up with her and just passed her like it was a lawnmower. By 60 I was a whole car length ahead, and just slowed down because we were getting into an area knwon for cops pulling people over. I really don't know how I passed her like that, considering my friend was with me, and it was an SI. Maybe her weight had something to do with it, or her riced out wing.
AnywayZ, does anyone know if you get any power gain by turning a carb engine into a fuel injector? I can feel a lot more power and torque gain since the guy swaped my engine (had a fuel inj. d15b7) I'd imagine, putting a fuel injector from one d15b onto a carb d15b would give you the same amount of power. Has anyone had any sort of swap like this before, or does anyone know if you gain anything by putting an injection onto a carb engine?

ive heard you can gain about 8hp. Anyways, im confused. You say that you have a D15B7 and its carb? the only carb i know of is the 88-91 Civic/CRX with the D15B2 in it. Good kill BTW.

Ok, my old engine blew while cruising 60 on the highway, in 5th lol. I bought this engine I have in right now off ebay. It said "jap spec d15b7" just like the one I had before, only the old one wasn't jap. I didn't know it was a carb. When I got it, the guy who swaped the engine told me he had to use the fuel injector from my old engine and put it on the carb one, plus he blocked off a hole. So now I have a "non VTEC jap used to be carb, turned into a fuel injector" d157b engine. And for some it's a lot easier to do anything. I can pass people a lot easier, launch is a lot better...That's why I was asking if anyone knew anything about any gain in power by turning a carb into a fuel injector. Thanx btw
Actually, it said it would fit any civic from 88 to 95, so that's why I got it. And yes, I know "why a d15b". All I can say is, I didn't know shit about engines until I came to this board. The engine doesn't idle too well though.

Yeah good kill bro. I raced one the other day and I beat it too, I also hate it when people think they're the shit in them when they are not all that fast. that b16a2 engine is a lil overrated.
