when i start my car it idles at like 3 grand for about a minute then starts to rev from about 1 grand to 3 grand all by it self. i unplugged the vacuum hose that goes to the sensor that is mounted just above the the fuel filter...and then my car just idled at 4 grand... so im not sure if that sensor is bad or what else it could be. please give me your opinions. thanks......

ohh p.s. long time no talk to all of you. i've been gone for a long time..

try unplugging the IACV. the idle should drop. Check for all vacuum leaks throughout the whole engne. Your problem is within vacuum.

Im having almost the same problem and have been meaning to check for vacuum leaks for awhile now.
What is the best and easiest way to do so?, I heard that brake parts cleaner is a good way to check.

:loser: :nono:

you can try spraying a light mist of water in the engine bay and possibly find the leak. it's never really helped me...but others have claimed it did

Might try just re-setting the idle by following the proper steps, and see if that changes anything. The idle air screw has been known to back itself out, throwing the idle out of spec and causing the revving.

Just a thought...
