i dont like the stock colors available for the gt and want a new paintjob as i just bought a 96 vr4 i want to hookup. thinking bout chameleon paint or maybe a metallic black, silver, or royal blue, any info on pricing and what types are better would be great. i am looking for something really metallic.

for a good paint job your looking to spend around 5-10 grand depending on how much they take off before they paint.

All depends on the quality you want. I prefer nothin but the best if im going to paint my car, i.e. show quality. I got a quote from one place for 15 grand for the best posible paint. 8 grand for a compleat repaint at show quailty, 3-4 grand I dissassembled the car b4 they painted and reassembled after they finished, then brought it back to them for wetsanding and polishing.

You can get it for cheeper. But if it goes around 2 -3 grand they normally dont take apart your car and paint the peices. It all depends on the job you want and how much work you are will to do yourself.

As far as stock colors, some of them aren't great but alot of them are amazing. The rare pearl yellow is insane and the sandstone is really nice too. Also, a few people have gone with fiji blue or the ferrari blue and it looks nice!

What the hell? Just go to Maako, and get the ambassador paint job for less than $200.

For my daily driver that would be fine, but not for my baby.

hey beast search archives for recent post on paint, maako ambassador costs about 850 total and only lasts 2-3 yrs, getting one for 2000 is better.

Ya, MAAKO is crap. It definantly exemplifies the phrase "you get what you pay for".
