2 Head gaskets? Doesn't sound too smart, a better idea would be to buy a thicker head gasket.

y8 head with a6 pistons 10.06
z6 head with a6 pistons 9.7
z6 and y8 headgasket are same thickness
lowest compression for single cam would be a6 head with z6 pistons at 8.66

i knew it was 10 somethin. Anyways, i was gonna build up my D16A6 block and put in Z6 pistons and now im happy that it will be low compression.

Since we are on the topic of compression ratio how can I calculate it/ I want to know the compression on a a6 block with an a6 head but with zc pistons, also the comp of an a6 block with a z6 head and zc pistons. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.

a6 head and block with zc pistons would be 10.7
and the z6 head with a6 block and zc pistons would be 11.58
and the z6 head with a6 block and zc pistons would be 11.58

civichbsi91 thanx for the help. Also how did you find that out? Do you just know it, is there a site that has all the info, or is there a way to calculate it so in case I have more questions I can figure it out my self.
