B16 and B18 are the different kinds of engines that come in civics, integras. All of the B series engines are DOHC. The B16's are 1.6 liter engines and the B18 are 1.8 liters. There are many different B16's and B18's, producing different amounts of hp and torque. For example my Integra GSR has a B18C1 engine. There are also other engine series such as the D series, H series and K series. Why do you ask? Are you looking to do an engine swap?

Those are engine codes. Read the other dudes description for what those codes mean. Car manufacturers assign engines codes. These codes are some irrelevant to the general public. They are important to the manufacturers, mechanics, parts people, etc. Tuners use engine codes because it is an efficient way to describe the exact engine they are talking about. For example, there can be multiple versions and updated versions of a 1.6 liter engine by a Honda so they have a B16A, B16A2, B16B, etc.
Tuners also like to describe a particular car by its body type. Honda Civic fifth generation is the EG-6, Honda Civic sixth generation is the EK-9. Mazda RX-7 third generation is the FC, the fourth generation is the FD. If you don't know what the AE86 is and why my username is akina_speedstars, watch the Japanese anime called Initial D.
