Some Car Troubles.

Hi all, I've been reading these forums for a while and now I have a question. I have a 93 Eclipse GS Automatic, for one, the acceleration is a bit slower now... but that's besides the point. Well, once I feel the car has shifted to about second gear, I try to accelerate faster, I put the pedal down all the way and i get a strange sound from the engine, usually when i accelerate there are about three levels of acceleration. The first which is when the pedal is almost upright, the second about halfway, and when the engine really kicks in when I floor it. Well, when it gets to about the third level, the car makes a really bad sound coming from the engine, almost like something is going to break, and it makes a loud noise and it just started making this noise a couple of days ago, before when i used to floor it, the engine would rev up nice and the engine would just make a rough sound. Any suggestions, this happen to anyone?
Oh, and another thing, my fog lights stopped working, both of them, I checked the fuse and it is not burnt out, I checked the switch and it seems to be intact, though I dont know how to tell if the relay is bad. Anyway to really check before I go and buy it?

Thanks in advance,
Ken

like internal engine knocking? Seems like I read somewhere else on hear, of someone fearing a bent rod, and it only ended up being something loose, not even engine related. just at higher RPM's it create enough vibration to get this thing rattling...can't remember what it was though...we are taking my girlfriends car in this weekend, I'll tell you what I find, maybe it'l help you.

Mechanic took a look at my car, it seems that I burned out my Rod Bearings, he told me it can be fixed, and it seemed to be comeing from only on Rod Bearing out of the 4 in the eclipse. I should not drive the car until its fixed because it could turn into something worse, like the crankshaft, so any of you that experience this, be careful.
