This forum is an excellent resource for photos of all varieties of the McLaren F1. You just need to look through the old threads to find what you are looking for.
Also, there are several image search engines on the web that will allow you to find more pictures. Start with the Google image search - it's a great resource.

Just out of curiosity, oh Great F1 Picture Collector, how many different searches have you tried since starting your collection?
Probably hundreds... You certainly won't find everything you are looking for by simply typing "McLaren F1 GTR" into a search engine. I've used many different variations and lots of other related info to find as much as possible through the various search engines.
yes , peloton , since when you're collecting them and how many do you have?????? :p
My McLaren F1 image collection is probably close to 5000 images now. I also have a large collection of videos and scanned articles that I have found around the web. I'll have even more once I get a scanner as I have a tremendous collection of F1 related magazines with various photos that haven't ever appeared on the web. It's getting tough to keep track of all of it.

That must be quite a collection to see. If you could take some pictures of all of them together, that would be really cool. Do you keep them in the boxes, or do you display them? I have this really bad habit of not saving any of the boxes for any of my diecast, but I buy them because I like them, not so that I can sell them for a profit someday.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of 1/43rd scale diecast, but there are a lot of cars that are only offered at that size. I only have two of the Minichamps McLaren F1s - they are both the road car with one in silver and the other in green. I'd love to have the complete GTR collection, but the prices keep me away. Maybe when I can afford a real McLaren I'll track them all down as well.
I sent you a reply to your PM earlier with the only photo I have ever seen of the Lloyds liveried GTR. I'll post it here as well so that no one duplicates it. Incidentally, when I first saw this photo I had no knowledge of any GTR ever racing with this livery and thought that it had been photoshopped.
http://a0.cpimg.com/image/00/C6/21203200-af06-0101005F-.jpg
As you point out, this car was seen in the 1996 British GT Series, campaigned by Lanzante Motorsport. Race records list this car as GTR #02R which formerly wore a Gulf Racing livery and had finished 4th at the '95 24Hrs of LeMans with Ray Bellm being the car owner. After failing to finish the first race, Team Lanzante had a rather successful season in the '96 British GT Series with drivers Ian Flux and Jake Ulrich scoring several top 5 finishes during the season in this car. It's unclear to me if the car wore this "Lloyds" livery the entire season, but I believe if it had there would be many more photos of it. Maybe someone else knows more about it??
Lastly, have you seen the AutoBarn GTRs that are offered on Ebay? There are several liveries that they offer which Minichamps chose not to produce including the Hollywood livery, the Italjet/Tuiles TBF livery, the Sal Oppenheimer livery, the San Miguel livery and also the '96 GTR promo livery (Red with Yellow "GTR" script). I have seen these cars in person at a show and found their quality and attention to detail to be quite good. The sell for between $250 and $300 on Ebay but you can buy them direct from AutoBarn. They are also numbered unlike the Minichamps GTRs.
Here's a link if you'd like to check them out.

I have already seen the hompage of the handbuilt McLaren.
I also build cars myself, based on Minichamps McLaren F1 GTR.
Thank you for the photo of the LLoyds.
This is my 2nd one.
Do you have any photos of details ?
I need them for my trader in Germany:

He is able to produce Decals (edition of 150 pcs) so I will be able to
built these very nice McLaren LLoyds myself.
I will send you also photos of my cars as soon as possible.

farbod - nothing was wrong with your pictures, but they are all quite common photos of GTRs that are well documented. It seems that Waldo's interest, as well as my own, is in the rarer liveries featured on F1 GTRs.
Waldo- You say you have a different photo of the Lloyds GTR?? Really?? I would love if you could post it here for the rest of us. I have searched as many ways as I could think of to find more pictures of that car with absolutely no luck. I did look through my collection last night and discovered that the car wore a different livery at some of the races that year - it's yellow/blue and I have a couple of photos of it.
I look forward to seeing the photos of your collection.

The Llloyds car also appeared on the Lloyds of London stand at that years UK motorshow.
The other races (to be honest cant rememeber when) ran in a Blue and Yellow livery. Basically same as the 95 Gulf livery, but with Yellow bottom in lieu of the Silver and Orange. A Lanzante logo was located in lieu of the Gulf logos and if I remember correct it also carried Kingsley and Dunlop branding.
I have some artwork of it at home, although I didnt actually do the livery of this one. It was one of the 95 GTC cars btw.
Also, incase you didnt know Paul Lanzante ran the Ueno Clinic car for McLaren at Le Mans, also he's best mates with Ray Bellm (and the late George Harrisson - evena a credit to Paul on a couple of albums) and was the company who did the first (at least) road car transformation of a GTR for Ray.
I also own Paul's old 1969 Fiat 500 ! :D

Hi- do these decals fit the minichamp cars? If so, then i'd be very interested in the following if they are available
Marlboro (Zuhai 96 GTC)
San Miguel (Zuhai 95 DPR)
GTR 96 launch car
Lanzante Blue and Yellow car (pretty much know the answer to that one)
as I say, i'd be very interested as I did these liveries, and have all my other liveried cars in a cabinet at home, I've "bodged" these on Minichamp chassis, so it would be nice to get some decent ones.
Seriously very interested!

Andy - Good to have you back!
I have held this exact 1/43rd in my hand recently - the quality is very very good. I actually live fairly close to the company who commissioned them. There are two gentlemen there who are big time F1 GTR fans and they noticed there were too many GTRs that Minichamps had overlooked which was why they started their project. Anyway - they are expensive, but if you have the rest of the collection of Minichamps you might want to add the ones they have made as well. I specifically liked the #10R '96-GTR Prototype out of the ones they have built the most.

Anyway, that model looks really high quality. I can't believe anyone would be willing to pay $225 for a 1/43 model. Thats also the first McLaren model I've seen where it actually says what chassis # it's designed after.

Yes - it is a very nice model - AutoBarn's attention to detail impressed me. The price is high for a 1/43rd scale car, but these are numbered unlike the Minichamps and they do include the chassis number on each base plate plaque. You can compare these to a BBR 1/43rd scale which normally sell for about the same price - the quality of these is nearly as good - and then the price doesn't seem as outrageous.
Also, the gentleman I spoke with was very knowledgable on the GTRs history. He gave me his email address when I spoke with him but has never replied to the two emails I sent. :(

Well, if it's any consolation - from what I have seen, these haven't really been accepted by the Minichamps collector community, only those who specifically collect the GTR line up. I haven't seen their values increase much in the past year or so they have been out. I'm sure if you wait you will still be able to get your hands on them at a later date.

At a local hobby store theres a 1:43 GTR by minichamps i believe it is. It's the Yellow Corn GTR (sorry, I need to sharpen up on my GTR chassis numbers) and it's only $47. It's one out of about 3,000. I was just wondering if $47 is the value of the car.
BTW, I also spotted a 1:43 Dauer 962 Sport version (longer nose). Only about $35. I didn't make any purchases though
