Fan noise

I have a 2003 Se that when driven at highway speeds has a loud fan noise coming from behind the glove compartment. It does not matter if the fan for the AC is on or off. I know there is an air filtration unit in that area and am curious if something is defective with that. Anyone else have this issue?

Your "air filtration unit" is a HEPA air filter!!!

Thanks for the reply, is there a fan or something mechanical in the filter system that is making the
noise. Is there any maintenace that the average guy can do or look at to see if its functioning correctly?

Update
I finally got the car into the dealer and checked the noise out. Turns out that the windshield was not sealed correctly at the factory, they resealed the windshield and fixed the problem.
