does anyone know if an f22b1 head will fit on an f22a1 engine? if i can find the head cheap, is this even worth doing? time/effort/money? thanks.

It will fit, requires the head, the vtec solenoid, the ECU, the intake manifold and the header for a 94-97 Accord EX model.
The major problem is that in the 94-97 head there is a coolant passage that must be plugged. there is a how-to on the CD in my signature, or there is also another one on one of the honda boards (I can't remember which).
The cost issue, well, the f22a1 is 125hp, and the f22b1 is 145hp, so that's a good 20hp....however, for all that work, unless you get the thing given to you, you are better off to just convert to an f22a6....which just involves an intake manifold swap, a header swap, and an ECU swap...... (eh, and techncially a cam).
The cost of the f22b1 head swap will be gaskets, including a $100 head gasket.....the head (around $50-60), the intake manifold ($40-60), the exhaust manifold (likely almost free unless you want to buy a aftermarket one)....some JB weld for the coolant passage (or a real weld), as well as the ECU which will also likely run you around $40-50. And of course some wire. In the long run, you could almost swap a cheap h23 long block in for the price. Since the f22a1 intake and exhaust manifold wil lboth "techncially" fit the h23 long block (that is about $400 from a junk dealer)
