eclipse motor oil

i was wondering what company motor oil you guys are using or recommend in an eclipse motor? my freind has a 97 eclipse gsx, and he says that mitsubish recomends valvoline, so thats all he ever uses. oh yea, and he only goes to phillips 66 gas stations, nothing else, only phillips cause he used to work there, and he says that they actually have higher guality gas or something.

I use Mobil 1 10w30. It's been a solid performer in my ride.

i use Amsoil 10w40 never had any problems, my car will have a little bit of lifter tick when it is really cold, and when i warm it up, after about 5 minutes it quits.
