*sigh* car died again...

my car once again wont start...i knew something was wrong when i stalled and the car wouldn't start up, but now when i try to start up my car, it just turns over a couple times then the rrr-rrr-rrr noise starts fading away. I'm not sure what it is....earlier today when i got out of school, the car turned over like 4 times before it started up, and i knew that this will be the last time i'll be driving the car till i fix it. When i got home, i turned off the car and tried starting it up again, but no luck. It just turns over then the rrr-rrr-rrr noise fades away. Tried it again tonight....still no luck. It's too dark to start looking at the engine, so i decided to come on the AF forums (like i always do) and ask for your help....again :iceslolan

a couple hundred $ could be the battery too... hard to say without hearing the car.

Yea, it depends on a couple things. Do you have a simple voltmeter? If you do just test the voltage of the battery. As long as its above 12.5ish then that should be okay. Have your headlights or gauge/cluster lights been dimming at all? If yes then its probly your alternator. Just check those couple of things and then get back to us.

well here's an update, me n' my friend tried jump starting the car, but it wouldn't fully start, it would keep trying, but it wont fully turn :( what's my problem?

Yeah I agree, sounds like the starter (or the battery cables), take off the starter and bring it to most any auto parts store (autozone) and they can test it for you. Good luck. :)
