95 civic ex questions

I have a 95 civic ex coupe..and all of it is stock..just got it about 3 weeks ago! I was wondering what you guys think is the cheapest and best way to improve the car..engine wise..not looks..and increase the HP? thanks

I would like to add something here too... if you don't have at least a general grasp of how to get power out of an engine, what are you doing trying to mess with it in the first place? I mean come on, any engine will respond to the same general things. This has been said many, many times from one place to another, an engine is an AIR PUMP! the easier it is for air to get in and exhaust to get out the better it will be. I don't know everything, but even I know that. If you don't know the basics of what to do to a car and how to do it, LEARN. I didn't know sh!t about cars before I started reading and watching and doing small things on my own. Years later I would like to consider myself at least fairly knowledgeable about cars.
