B16 swap for auto....

Would I need a different transmission then the one u find in the whole swap. Like if I order one of a site it comes with a tranny....can I use that or something different. I tried searching for this but got nothing...any help would be appreciated.

I don't knwo the exact answer to your question, but I would thin that the tranny that comes with the b16 would work. crxlvr is doing an auto b16 swap into his rex so you might want to pm him to find out, I am also pretty sure he can answer any other questions you have about the swap.

if your gonna keep with the auto box, know a few things, a custom wiring harness will need to be made first, only place i found that can do it was Place Racing for almost 400bux. secondly, the b16 auto trans is obviosuly the first choice, but a b18a LS auto trans will work as well.

Instead of spending $400 or a shitload of time wiring to make the auto B16 tranny work, why not buy the whole B16 swap with the standard tranny and then get pedals, linkage, shifter, and do the 5 speed swap while you're swapping the complete drivetrain anyway.

what about the ZC? anything different there.

ZC is really straight forward. You can keep your slushbox thats in there now, and you just drop the motor in and plug in the auto ZC ECU and go to town.... Barley beating 5 speed Sis.

and if you do any kind of work to your tranny, new Torque Convertor, different gears, you can keep up with manuals.

Why not an auto LS or something though.. I don't understand.. Something torqey that will kinda work with the AT?!

i dont have any info as of yet, but the wiring for an auto B16 into my DX crx was boatloads of work, i sent it to place racing for the wiring, and i still have to wire to the ecu, what a pain.
