ok overall including handleing and performance and price..and more bang for your buck...is there a difference between the new MSP and the WRX? i've been watching WRX for awhile and drove the '03 and the '04 and i like them alot...i'm a fan of turbocharged cars...and i just did some research on the msp cuz i saw it at the dealership as a drove buy and thought it looked diff...i found out it's turbo'd at 170hp...ima not gonna bash the MSP or anything....but what's your guy's opnion on the WRX and MSP? or am i way out of my league considering the MSP is FWD and the WRX is AWD...just would like all ya'll opinions on stuff...i see that the MSP does come with a pretty catchy stereo system though :P lol.....

don't even think about getting a msp, they suck! i had one and the car hit the lemon law in less than 25 days. all the msp's are is a family car with a turbo in it, and you really cant feel that much of a boost. you'd be way way better off if you were to get a wrx.

I was in a similar situation last February. I was deciding on purchasing either the WRX or the MSP. I test drove both cars and liked both of them. I ended up purchasing the MSP for the following reasons.

1. MSP had a better interior.
2. Better gas mileage than the WRX.
3. Liked the body styling on the Protege over the WRX.
4. Good racing suspension.
5. Rocking stereo.
6. Price was lower than the WRX. Both in the initial purchase and
insurance.

Granted, the MSP does not have AWD and gives up some horsepower, but it's overall performance is awesome. The SCCA classifies the WRX and MSP in the same category for Solo II autocrossing. The previous message fails to define what a "family car" is. If it has four doors, then the WRX certainly falls in the class of being a "family car".

I have nothing against the WRX. It's a great car. However, the MSP is a great value considering all the performance it has right out of the box. If you're on a budget, the MSP is a better buy. If you're looking for AWD and another good performing car, choose the WRX. Do test drive both before you make the purchase. Happy driving!
