Well I thought it would be easy to replace the outer right CV boot! Boy was I wrong. I have everything disconnected including brakes, lower ball joint, upper strut bolts, tie rod end, etc. The hup carrier is completly free, but I cannot get the axle out of the hub nor out of the end of the transaxle. If I can get the inner CV joint free I can use my press t get the axle out of the hub, but after removing the inner boot clamp it still won't come free. Anyone have a clue how to get the darned thing apart?
Thanks
Dennis

you got to remove 3 bolts that are located above the mufler pipes , its a mount atached to the axle.

Does anybody have any more information on this? My brother in-law's cv joints are bad, and need to be replaced. I will probably be doing it for him, and I was just wondering if anybody had any other suggestions/tips to make the process go more smoothly? Is there a write up on the internet anywhere of how to do it?
Any help is appreciated!
His is a 1990 MX-6 manual also.

First off, you do not need to remove all that just to get the axle out, secondly, there is something you missed, the axle does not go directly into the tranny, it first goes into another "arm" which name I'm at a loss of right now, that arm is bolted onto the block by 3 bolts, the only thing you need to do to get the axle out is disconnect the axle nut on the end, the one bolt that presses againt the balljoint and the 3 on the block than get a pry bar and pry on the inner lip of the axles "arm" that goes into the tranny, I'm sorry Im at a loss and can not remmeber the actual name of the part..here a picture
