Hey Guys ..I've been looking over a year now for side markers for the 99 G20t. I know what the 2001 models have them. I've been told by the dealership that because its a new feature in the 2001 model ..it'll be a few months till we can order them. I measured them and the 2001 sidemarkers will fit the 99 model.
let me know if anyone can source it out sooner
Thanks

You should be able to get them now. the cars have been out for half a year (maybe longer). Since i've dedicated my car to be a show car, i've built a good relationship with my dealer. He gave me the side markers free off of one of their cars in the lot and I guess they just worried about it from there. I certainly didnt.. lol
I would definately expect them to be able to order them by now...

they fit like factory... cause they are. i have a '00, but the fenders are the same... the side markers are the same except they are low profile now, and of course clear!!

I have a '99 G20 and I bought the clear side markers to the '00 G20 in October of last year. I tried to buy it early september but they said id have to wait because they had to order them, but i got them eventually. They do fit, but you have to do some readjustment. On the side marker itself is a small key which fits into the groove of the side marker housing in the fender. The '00 has a different pattern than the '99 so i used a saudering iron to take off two of three keys so that itll fit in the groove. I smoothed it out and it fits in perfectly and doesnt move one bit. Very easy to do, only took me like 10-15 minutes because I wanted to make sure I wouldnt mess up. I think each side marker was $25.

the side markers are the ones on your fender (between the wheel and your mirror)
the ones you're thinking of are the "corners".

Alright ..I just picked up the clear side markers for the 2001 model and trying to replace those on my G20T 99 model.
I've run into a snag! Two options cut out grooves for the bulb housing twist lock or ..get the wiring harness boot for the 2001 model.
Please advise ..posting pictures now for your perusal

Here are the connector views- its either mashing up the twistlock pattern or coughing up more dough to buy the 2001 connectors

Well here is the result. I phoned the dealership and they said they couldn't provide me with the female connectors for the new lights. So I decided to get my dremel tool out and routed out the new housing to fit the old bulb plug. Worked like a charm, and stays tight. I swapped the rubber seal since it made it fit better and seemed more air tight.
Here are pictures of it installed on the car ..which is a simple snap in.

In my opinion, the orange side markers looks better.
I've also seen people with clear bumper lenses...I dont think they look good at all, pretty Honda-ish actually considering only riced out Hondas have clear bumper lenses. Want to add an "European" style to your car? Get something Euro. Not bashing, just expressing my opinion, I hope that's okay on this forum.

I changed my side markers also. I used a saudering iron to fit the original plug into the new marker. I mentioned how to do it a couple of posts back.

I got yellow sidemarkers on my silver p10 last night. I like the way it looks will get the digital camera back and post the pics.
Also I got the factory Fog lights installed. They are really nice and bright. If you decide to get factory lights get the " 2nd edition" for the p10. I was told that there are two versions, one is set for 91-93, the other for 93-96 although the housing is the same the lights are defin. brighter. My friend got the 20 dollar cheaper kit and his are ok but not as bright as mine.

looks good Dprotech...
poppy - as for the factory fogs, you can always get brighter h3 bulbs, i think i actually saw 100w h3 bulbs  at a local auto store near my place, crazy stuff :)
i'm thinking of getting yellow bulbs for my fogs, so hopefully those won't look too bad...

If you get yellow bulbs for your factory foglights get the PIAA xenon yellow . I have them and they look just like a bright yellow fog light on a lexus. All the others I've tried suck they just look off white. The PIAA's are more expensive but worth the money

i heard to change the fog lights in the p11 is a bit of a hassle? i dont know...anyone tried before? because yellow fogs would look pretty cool

its easy... the manual has a good explination on how to do it...
just need to pop off the clip next to the fog.. then theres a bolt.. you need a deep socket wrench to get it off (i guess thats the "hard" part)
the the fog light is free and its easy from there... just be sure to put everything back how it was.. connection wise... cause if the connecter on the bulb (positive) touches any part of the fog housing (negative)..it'll short... theres a cover that goes over the connection.. dont lose it, you'll see what i mean when you open the thing up =)

ok cool...i am gonna get me some yellow piaas or raybrigs (hardcore!!! hehe) on monday and let you guys know how it went...that's assuming the damn bulbs is in stock. some dude told me before that i would have to cut something in order to fit the bulb??? i'll see what's gonna happen

04-28-2001, 05:47 PM
now that you mention it... i had forgotten but i had the same problem... theres this notch on the stock bulbs, and for some reason on the piaa bulbs i got, the notch wasnt big enough.. i had to cut it a bit to have the bulb fit in there nicely.
i dunno why this is... its not like the stock bulb is some wierd nissan creation... the piaa's are supposed to be direct replacements......
you may or may not have this problem...

Howdy ..
Yes you do have to cut the notches ..the nissan original bulbs have larger grounding plate notches. I replaced my fog light with white 55w bulbs and had to snip the notches off. Don't worry the remainder of the grounding plate is held down by the spring lever.
I'm thinking of replacing these H3 bulbs with yellows too ..but it may be too lexus lookalike ...I don't know ..what are your opinions ?

Here is how you change the side repeaters. I think the side markers are the oval looking ones nearer to the front, they don't flash with the turn signals, thats why one is called a repeater and the other a marker.
look through the thread to see how to change the side repeaters.

Oh yeah ..as to how to remove the markers. well the direction is to slide the marker towards the rear of the car and the opposite for the passenger side. If not sure ..push it either way ..you will see one moves easier. Note it does take considerable force, but not herculean. Once you've moved it about half inch, use your other hand to lift the side being pushed away from the car. No need for a screw driver.

I personally like the VW clear repeaters better. They don't have that opaque look to them. Has anyone tried to fit those on. I'm willing to try if anyone knows if it could be possible.
