Turbo Kit (KA24DE)

I was researching turbo kits, which I plan on buying soon i.e, next 3 months, and I've come upon two which catch my eye. The first is the acclaimed, or from what I've seen acclaimed Nsport kit, T04E turbo. ($3,900). This looks real good but I saw the new GREDDY kit ($2,800) with a TD06S-20G turbo. I haven't heard much about the TD06S ...I was wondering if any of you recomended the GREDDY due to the fact that it claims 210 rwhp with no intercooler, Nsport claims 240rwhp with intercooler...and because of that who makes a intercooler kit for the KA? Thank you.....

any intercooler will work with the KA as long as you get the right size and plumb it yourself.
if you're set on getting a kit, then i'd go with the F-Max kit. it's made by turbonetics and is pushin over 300whp on Ty Yapp's stock bottom end s14.
if i were you, i'd go to amazon.com and buy "Maximum Boost", read it, and research how to build your own it. it will be more rewarding, cheaper, and more powerful b/c you'll be able to plumb the IC pipes how you want them. kits assume their buyers dont want to cut away any sheet metal, so when the design the IC plumbing, the pipes are longer then they need be therefore increasing spool up time
PM me if you have a question

i heard that the nsport is better than the fmax mainly because of the larger turbo t4/4 as opposed to t3/t4....and the larger "skyline" intercooler....

the t3/t4 will get you all the horsepower you want with faster spool up times.
still, i would build my own kit.

If I was to get any kit then I'd agree with spitz7985 on the FMAX kit. The T3/T04E (or is it a T04B wheel???) that comes with the FMAX kit will most likely be plenty for you unless if you plan on building a drag car. Like spitz7985 said, quicker spool up times and still huge amounts of HP. I'm not sure what A/R the turbo with the FMAX kit has, but it will still HP in the upper 400-lower 500 hp range at it's max (depending on many other variables also).
But once again, like spitz7985 said, building your own kit will be much more rewarding as well as fun. Plus you get to build everything exactly how you want it when you go custom.
Oh, and about greddy not including an intercooler.... Believe me, your going to want an intercooler. It will make things so much easier in the long run, plus you aren't going to have AS MUCH hot air blowing into your motor.

Build your own.
Buy things that are worthless to fabricate with limited skills like the exhuast manifold..
Rev-hard makes a nice TO4 manifold for the KA-T.
You can find used, or even new TO4 turbos on the internet all the time cheap... work out the oil lines...
personally as far as an IC goes I would go for a cool-air/air barrel style IC.
If my new probe drag car project ever happens... it will only use the barrel IC's
