Which do you think is cheaper? Buy a B-16 and then a B-18 block, or buy the B-18 and then a B-16 head?:uhoh:

I would pick the 2nd option. b18s are relatively abundant since there are 8 million Integras out there...and peeps blow up b16s all the time, so there are prolly plenty of heads around they'd love to part out.

Depends on where you live and who you know.. I see 1st gen B16s go for just as cheap as the B18s quite often here in Ontario. (Canada, not California :() I think do the B16 swap and then build a B18 block while its out of the car.. Thats what I did. Enjoying the B16A for now, and when I get an LS block I'll be able to build it for as long as it takes for me to afford the whole thing to be done, then get it put in. :)

Yeah I would get the b16 for now and build up a LS block for later, I've been thinking about doing that but I know a guy that sells z6's for dirt cheap all day long.

how about getting a GSR. IMO, a GSR is better than LS/VTEC since they are both rated at the SAME torque, but the 1.8 VTEC block is already made to rev high..

Who's this guy who sells z6's? I'm thinking about getting one, but I can't find them anywhere online.

Block? The GSR block is by far the better option if you're looking to build your B16 to a 1.8L, but the GSR motor itself is thousands more than a B16A, and for 10hp and something like 13lbs-ft.

The B16 Is superior to the B18c1 because of its better geomitry... That why the gsr only makes a whoping 10 hp more and for like $2000-3000 you can do some shit to make 10 ponies trust me. :iceslolan
The only motor that i think is superior to the B16A is the B16B (Concidering buying one of them)
