How many of you are interested in decals to be used with chris SAS 360 CS transkit ?

I would definately buy a couple sets if they were available..
I'll find it hard buying the transkit without the decals, and wheels.

OK, seems there a lot of people interested in, i will design it,
i think putting on :
of course : the italian strip, the ferrari badge side, the ferrari badge for wheels, the ferrari badge for seatbelt, the ferrari Stradale plates, and the ferrari stradale rear emblem.
Anything else i missed ?
Do you want the stripe match the exact size of the modena ? or i make it much longer to be used on another ferrari car ?

I would definitely get a set!
Do not forget that the stripe is rounded at the front, and white background is longer that the color stripes, which are rounded also.
Keep us posted!

Seb, if you design them then maybe i can incorporate them onto the sheet of decals i shall be getting printed in the next few weeks. They will be proper silk screen printed decal of course and i'll be baring the costs.
I didn't concern myself with the decals on this project coz they are an option on the real car anyway. However, it would be nice to have the complete Stradale package with full interior upgrade, wheels and decals. I do plan to design a fret of etched Ferrari badges soon and the stradale emblem will be added to it.
Anyway, LMK what you think about the decals.

Chris, would you PLEASE let me know when you finish the photoetch for Ferrari?
Also, I think it would be a good idea to include red stitching for the dashboard and handbrake boot as a decal too.

OK, but...
All the reference pix I've seen show a race style digital dash.
Most of the text discriptions list a roll cage as well.
Anyone have links to better ref pix?

There are not exatly the one need for a 360cs, but very near, the only minor adaptation need is to replace the central nut by a 5 nuts systems... you can use sakatsu nuts or make some with plastruct products.

Ok, so can someone make a comprehensive list of what you would need to change or modify on the Tamiya kit to make it a Stradale?
SO far I have:
- SAS kit (front fascia and sideskirts and mirrors)
- S27 wheels/Renaissance resin wheels modified
- Different seats with 5 point harness
- decals
what else?

-I think the dash is slightly different too.
There are two 360CS versions, the cosmetic differences being the seats and race style perspex windows with sliding opening. The decals are an option anyway.

Hmmm.. I have not seen a spoiler on any of the pics of the stradale cars... any pics?? Are you going to release a resin wing to complete the kit :naughty:*hint hint*
I know how to modify the dash (also need to remove the ac controls and radio)
Another question is whether the rear apron panel that houses the back up and turn lights is covered n C/F or is it just black.... (On the factory 360 it painted body color right?)
Thanks for all your help, I would have to build it without having refference materials.

The rear grill that holds the lights is actually a mesh type of material. Supposedly it's an option. You can shoose a the regular solid painted piece. Or the challenge grille. Supposedly the challenge grill adds more airflow keeping the engine from overheating. I was wondering if anyone made the challenge grill for the rear. And if they did. How do you remove the current rear?

I guess I'll have to visit my frendly local Ferrari dealer to get the option specifics.
I've read the CS has a roll bar, but I've not seen one in any pix.
All the interiors shots I've seen have an LCD dashboard as well...

But looking at these wheels - they are not exactly the same as on stradale, you right... Maybe its worth investing in those Museum Collection wheels...
"challenge Stradale logo to be put on Identity Plate" ? - not sure what you mean - what's an Identity plate? By Challenge Stradale logo you mean Challenge_Stradale badge right?

Chris, how about making a PE rear grille? Nobody offers it yet, and it should be relatively easy to make. Also, you may want to include a C/F sheet, and rear glass (made from clear styrene with Xerox'ed louvers for vents), just throwing some ideas... Seats? They are the same seats as in Enzo...

In fact when i see that Acustion do the job, i slow down the make of it to see the feedback of people.
The only thing my decal sheet can bring more than acustion is the licence plate..but does it worth the time to make it, as acustion shhet also contains gauges.
I am still waiting for more feedback to check if i continue or stop the design.(i am also waiting to receive my 360 kit to put decal at correct size ;-))

The grill is far from easy coz its molded to accomodate the rear lights. A simplified version might be posible made from very thin sheet to just sit in place on the kit body with cut outs where the lights are. This would just give the impression of a grill and will obviously not be see through which is a shame. My thoughts on this were just to paint that area semi-gloss black and make do with it:dunno:
I failed to realise the seats were as per Enzo, this is good news coz that would be the most difficult item to make from scratch. There would also be no problem in copyng the Enzo seats to sell with the Stradale t/kit as its for the Tamiya 360 model and Tamiya won't be out of pocket.

Chris - rear grille is made from thin drilled metal on a real car. If you could make grille with this drilled out pattern, modelers could just cut off the saddles for the taillights, and glue them from behind, and just paint the whole thing black - and then glue in the taillights. Again, just an idea.
Also, modified air boxes would be a good addition.

I've put a lot of thought into the 360 Challenge grill.
The only solution I've come up with that makes much sense is to cover the rear panel with 1/43 carbon fiber decal, or just paint it black.
It looks like most of the 360's (coupes and spyders) coming into the US right now have the Challenge grill and different Ferrari modular wheels.
The Strad' has a variety of options, though the guy I spoke with at FOD (Ferrari of Denver) was not sure what they were. I know they include the seats and side windows...

I believe there are too Stradale options, one is a meore practical version and the other is a lighter race bred type which is the one we see more often with the decals, different seats and perspex windows.

Hey Chris, if we have the rear spoiler, it would be excellent.

I agree about the rear spoiler, I don't see much point in building a kit of something half way between stradale and standard, I want to go all the way!

Chris,
Decal sheet looks great! I would also add a rev counter (its yellow on Stradale), let me know if you need a picture of it, and also Challenge_Stradale badge for the rear grille, and maybe small round horses for the wheels?
Btw, I got the kits yesterday, outstanding work! Thanks!

Will add the rev counter, got some pics but more will be great, any other pics too infact! Email to me if poss  I figured the wheel badge decals on the Tamiya decal sheet would suffice. The badge i would like as an etched piece but i will add as a decal too coz the etched part may not be introduced til later.

wow that kit is something im considering now all the bits are coming together. Would you consider having reference pics attached to the relevent sections of your web site? just so we can use them for information?
also something struck me looking at the new wing mirrors, would it be possible for you to create a universal mirror set? with pe mirrors? just so we can modify some of the more ugly standard mirrors such as the new celica.
cant wait for everything to come out dude :evillol:
ps. how are the tuner decals coming along? am waiting with baited breath

I'll send the pix later from home Chris. I'll also see if I could find something else to add to the decals sheet. Actually, small piece of C/F decals for the rear diffuser would be also good.
Not sure if you can do this - C/F for the seat backs would be nice too.

I'd like to do a set of aero mirrors like those i've made for my celica http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t91192.html Will have to leave out PE parts for them though to keep costs down.
Tuner decals still in the pipeline but no ETA
