Stereo and on board computer not working

I need help. I had an aftermarket pioneer deck installed in my 6. The idiots that wired my amplifier in screwed something up because when I went to hook up my amp, the deck and on board computer somehow shorted out. The backlight for the computer still lights up but there are no numbers. just a blank screen. and the deck won't turn on. some of the speaker wires were not hooked up. strangely when one of the grounds to one of the speaker wires from the harness touched the metal housing for the deck, and the computer turned back on. everything worked before the amp was wired in. Please help.

thanks,
mike

take it into your local dealership, then send the bill to your stereo installation company

some people actually take time out of their life to be annoying and answer forum questions with immature responses. Try searching google for pdf files for your make/model bmw stereo to see if the wiring is correct or not and follow the pionneers installation guide, the wiring colors should be similar to bmw and easy to figure out.

Hey thanks man! That was really helpful . I cant believe I did it all right . I had my previous stereo ripped off and they really did a number with the wires when they stole it. They actually sat in my car for a while I think ..They cut everything so short . Good thing though because the alarm that is on my car that wasnt turned on because the guy who owned it before me said it didnt work ,,lol.. works now . I found it under dash all ready to go just had to plug it in and thats it....lol.. pretty cool ...thanks again man oh and If you know where I can get some more diagrams for my car i would really apreciate it my car is actually an 82 but 85 csi is pretty similar to to mine they didnt change much ...thanks ...Billy
