Interesting fact about segarosso's world records

Not so long ago, my pals and I were talking about I D and one of 'em pointed out that he remembered seeing an option about game difficulty when the tech was checking the machine. Being my curious self, I checked the web, and obtained a copy of the technician manual, and found the setting. (http://www.seuservice.com/manuals/InitialD2/InitialD2main.html)

So one day, while the tech was checking other machines, I asked him to change the settings to very easy so I could try some test runs. The result : 1.5 seconds better on the first run on downhill Iro  (including some stupid driving mistakes  ) Since I was using my rx7, I also tried Akagi downhill, but I didn't notice much improvement, maybe half a second at best. Afterward, the machine was put back on normal mode.

So, the fact is, if someone was to continuously play in very easy mode, and thus use the fact that the machine is a lot more "forgiving" when you hit walls and such, I'm ready to bet he could gain the missing seconds that he needs to be near those world records, if you know what I mean...

Any opinions?
