Okay, I've almost posted this three times now, and I keep changing my mind if it's a big enough deal to worry about or not....

These are some topic titles from the OT forum:
When can you.....
What "it" is...
Do you.....
Who Likes To.......
Has anyone ever....
No, Not Me...
following on from..........
When's the Last Time...
What is the....
I just scored....
Everyone should.......

Now, I don't like them because they don't say what the topic is, and that's the point of having a title. OTOH, I know they're effective in getting members to look at the threads, simple because they're "mystery threads" and you have no idea what they could be about.

But this is where the debate starts in my head. "What's so bad about that?" Well, the problem is, I can't tell them apart. I see them all day, and I've posted in some, but then I can't remember which one is about what, and what I would have posted in there... I end up having to go back and read the beginning to figure out what it was about, then I have to find my post to remember what I said, then I have to go and see if anyone responded directly to me, then figure out if I want to post in there again.

Also, if something important is posted in one of those threads (heaven forbid! :p), I'll want to be able to find it again. Good luck remembering "Do you...."

Has this occured to any of you, too?

Don't really care for the title so long as there are no curses in it. I just look at the envelope and see if the dot is there to know whether or not I posted in that particular thread.

I have to agree with Jay on this one.
When you get older and your memory starts to fail you and you cant remember what the thread is about....you have to go back to the start if you haven't seen it for a few days to find out what's it about

Im such a bastard for this. :D I rarely start a thread but when I do, I am very guilty of using the "misleading topic"

I will attempt to refrain from that action in the future, and post more obvious titles.

Sorry for any inconvienience to all.

I agree somewhat with what Jay has brought up, but sometimes I literally can’t think of an appropriate title for the thread, ie why I came up with the thread “when can you…”. (yes, I am guilty, that one belongs to me! :p ). I don’t do it deliberately to get people to look at my threads, I honestly do it because I can’t think of an appropriate title that isn’t 10 miles long!! :)

I dont like titles like that either. I see them all the frigging time on LS1.com and its one of the reasons I dont go there so often. Just post what the damn topic is. I hope its not like its a mysterious errie feeling your giving out, because its just cofusing. It doesnt take to long, but at least a noun verb and direct object would be helpful.

I'm not trying to single anyone out or anything. I don't mind them once and a while, but not every other thread. Just use them sparingly. ;)Originally posted by kbslacker

I am guilty also and will put more info in them. I did it not to mislead anyone but to let your curiosity get the better of you.

Sorry guys :(
