Could a 1,6i VTEC-E, D16Z1 or a PRELUDE 85-91 2,0i DOCH fit in a 89 H/b civic...i have 14d1a at the moment. the 2.0 is 570$s and the 1,6 is 820$...what u think? p.s the engines are with the gearboxes

the VTEC-E engine is an economy engine and probably wouldnt make you happy, although it can be swapped. the prelude engine is too much of a task to swap, but it can be done, although its got very little aftermarket support. the d16z1 can be swapped, but i dont know much about it as far as gains you would see

you wouldnt be able to use the d16z1 tranny being that its hyd actuated clutch unless you switched over to hyd.....$570 for that pos motor? $650 you can get a zc with tranny and ecfi you look around...it would be a better choice over both motors...the prelude motor i have yet to see swapped. reason most dont go that route is the engine sits at an angle in the engine bay....oil pan towards the rad and intake towards the firewall....not to mention the lil resources for the motor.

i know you can get a real b20b/z for around 750-850. if i were u i would forget about swaping either of those engines.
