Looks so real. Great photography. BTW who makes that kit?

I know that kit, it's a Monogram. Middle of the road kit, not much detail in the engine bay but it goes together pretty well. There should still be a thread on my Dad's somewhere.

Here it is. Not bad for only adding some bare metal foil.

Thats a 1996 Chevy Tahoe pimp wagon. Its been lowered 2 scale inches, has a 4 inch LCD TV Monitor, and 16" Cadilliac Escalade rims, not to mention 3 amps out back. Its been painted with Dupli-color mirage paint. Dark purple to orange. It also hauls my tralior with the Camaro drag car that im working on and off on.

That Tahoe is pimp. I like it. At first, I looked at it, and thought it was an Escalade, so I read your post and it has Escalade rims. Anyways, looks good.

Sweet, say, mike I bought some duplicolor purple/green paint, and it's pimpin. 2coats of base, 3mid-coats, and 3-5clear, let sit for weeks on end and polish with turtle wax 5 times and i can see my face in the paint.

i gave it 2 coats of base coat, 10 light coats of the color changing paint, and then 3 coats of clear, and bufff it out twice with 3M Rubbing compund

Where did you get the Escalade rims? Do you have an Escalade model? If so, where did you get it?

I have to say, I admire your amazing talent of lifting trucks, i tried once on a chevy silverado i had built several years ago, but it ended up with a "tall california rake" but still looks kinda neat, have u ever though of maybe making an offroad diorama with a truck stuck in mud!?
CamaroSSBoy346
10-13-2003, 09:08 PM
Hm, thats actually an interesting idea; make a diorama..... The escalade rims came from a Welly 1:24 scale metal escalade. Not a model.

Oh. I was starting to get excited to see if there was actully an Escalade model.

there is. Just not yet. Revell is supposed to be releasing one soon. Only bad part is its going to the the "Wheels of fire" snap-tite series. But, you could put the engine from the silverado in them. (kinda like people are doing to the curbsiide tamiyas, cutting hoods etc)
