97 taurus upgrades?

I have a non SHO 97 taurus with about 90k on it i have been looking around for any kind of performance upgrades and the only ideas anyone has given me is new air filters. i dont have alot of cash to spend. any suggestions would be appreciated. a new engine is out of the question

A K&N filter is about the limit, unless you're going to get serious. Try looking around at www.tauruscarclub.com/forum and getting ideas.
There is a tuner kit available, to where you can re-program your factory EEC-V to whatever spark advance and fuel rates you desire, but it'll run you $510 check out www.sctuner.net for more info.
Edit: The other way to go is to lighten the car. Get rid of everything you don't need. And don't put a heavy stereo system in it. That's all I know.
