My good friend owns a car dealership here in Okinawa Japan and were thinking about selling skylines on e-bay for really cheap and directing our buyers to motorex. I have two questions... 1- i heard that in the next year or so the conversion info will be available to any US citizen. and 2 - do you see any problems arising aside from shipping ,which my partner is currently in Naha (city) discussing with the port.

What dealer? Where in Okinawa?

1. The information is already available from the government except those things kept secret by MotoRex. Even if you knew what they were, you would have to be an RI to do it. The gub'mint makes things hard to give people jobs. :banghead:

2. Shipping is rather easy for us in Japan. Just got to get the car de-registered and send it. You can ask the port authorities for details. Its when it gets to Cali that things change.

Reading Fresh Alloy will be helpful and you can ask tyndago (Sean Morris) as he is the GTR expert in the US.

Have you thought of contacting MotoRex directly and asking them?

Im sure they would love the extra bussiness, and will know everything there is to know about exporting a car from Japan.
From your perspective all you have to do is get the car into a container, or onto a car carrier, its getting the car into the US, paying bonds etc that is the difficult part, and where you might find it much easier to work directly with MotoRex, as they are a registered importer.

Ive e-mailed motorex like three times with no response. Ill try the number though. As for where in okinawa the dealership is, its in okinawa city almost right out gate 2 of kadena air force base.
