I have the racing version of this kit, and my question is ... is it supposed to have metal transfers? They are referenced in the instructions, but I could find them nowhere in the box.

Hey Ken old buddy! Welcome to AF! :)
Both of Tamiya's S2K kits have the metal foil transfers. If they are not in the box, you might want to contact Tamiya America on that.
Best regards,

He's talking about the S800. I don't know if the race version has them or not, haven't built it. The street version did for sure. However, I don't think the race version would have the metal badging that the transfers simulate, so maybe they are not inlcuded in the kit. I could be very, very wrong, though. Sorry I wasn't any real help.

That'll teach me to post when I'm falling asleep at the keyboard!:uhoh:
Sorry about that.....
I never built the racing S800 either, just the stock one. Tamiya is usually pretty thorough, though, so if the instructions call for metal transfers, it's likely the kit does have them.
Ken, I owe ya one!

That looks to me like Fujimi's kit (which, by the way, is the old 1980s-vintage Nitto kit with some more modern additions).

I can confirm, I am working on that kit right now and there are metal transfers in my box.

So ... anyone have any idea how I could go about obtaining replacements from Tamiya? Or does anyone have a spare set they don't plan to use?

Ken, try calling them. I did when I bought an Isuzu VehiCross that had the body screwed up and they were very responsive.

Thank ya, Larry ... I'll do just that!
I was a little hesitant to do so because I did call 'em several years ago when I got another kit with problems, and I was told they couldn't help me unless I had a receipt.
Thanks for the nice welcome, BTW ... think I'm gonna like it here!
