On my '94 silverado i have been having a problem with the winshield wipers. They only work half the time. if they aren't working and i hit the wiper motor while they are on they will start working. does anyone know a way to fix this inconvienience without replacing the motor.

Chevy has had a ton of problems with the wiper modules on these trucks. The module is easy to replace, three t15 torx screws and 1 electrical connector.

There is a recall out for this. I think it covers 94-97. I have a 98 that has the same problem but the folks at GM will not include it in the recall. Easy to replace. Check your dealer for recall info! :crying: :crying:

Guys,

My Dad's '99 Chevy full-size van has wiper woes as well. The problem with his is that they only work on one speed setting - High! None of the intermediate, mist or delay settings work. It's quite a pain. Could the module be the cause here as well? How do I check it without replacing it?

Thanks for your help.

I have same problem, Also with this I have found that right after that my lights started to have electrical issues with parking/brake lights in the rear. Thought I found the problem with the aftermarket (U-Haul) trailer wiring. Then a few months it came back with an vengence. Now when the parking lights and/or head lights are on the rear brake lights(including the parking lights) dont work. Also noted that with the emergency lights on the lisence plate lights flash with the turn signals.

FUSTRATED!

Anyone got some ideas?

You can repair the wiper motor if you are good with a soldering iron. All you have to do is, unplug the wiper motor, take off the plastic cover, and resolder it where the plug contacts go thru the circuit board. It's a very easy fix. Fixed mine 4 years ago, and haven't had any problems. Good luck.

my 95 had the same problem. got tired of soldering and finally got the info for the recall and carried it to the dealer to get it fixed. the dealer can look up your vin # and see if it is included in the recall.
