car theif

i got a 96 neon and these punks (dunno who) have been breaking into my car for the past 2 months....about every week, or everyother week....

i dont have an alarm but who pays any attention to them anyways? the first time they took the face to the stereo (my g/f left in there) the 2nd time they took the registration...why would you do that? the 3rd time they just riffled through all the crap in the car....and the 4th time they took my freaking ash tray!!

this is really getting on my nerves!! i live in apartment complex and supposedly we have security guards....they are no good obviously!!

my guess is that they are using a slim jim...cause we make SURE the car is locked up....the are either really stupid or are lookin for somethin in particular...the 3rd time they didnt take anything....and we had cd's in car....doesnt make sense...

i am gonna get an alarm very soon.....but like i said who pays attention to them (besides the owner)?

anyone know how to make it so you cant use a slim jim? or have any other ideas?

this is really getting old....and i swear if i ever catch the person doing it.....im gonna be in jail for a LONG time....

It sounds as if you have kids messing with you or a personal grudge against you in some way. Do you know anyone that is trying to get back at you? Do you live in a troubled neighborhood? Is your car the only car being violated?

Don't waste your money on an alarm. It's just a consumer trick to spend more money on something( like you said ) no one pays attention to anymore. They are more annoying than anything else. Plus, they will be gone from thesound of the alarm before you can get there.

The best thing for you to do is spend the moeny on a camcorder. Have your car facing you or your window where it can be seen from the parking lot. If you can't? Work with a neighbor to help you. Set up the camcorder to work while your sleeping or when it's most likely to be broken into.

If they try it again, they will be on camera, make sure you leave a note that is well seen in the car that they are on camera. So you are telling them that they are and nothing can he held against you in court when u press charges. This way they can't countersue for being recorded without notification. Stupid law but it covers your ass.

Yeah, gotta hate that. Like the other person stated, it is more than likely a kid or something. So, even a camera may not do much either. Their parents won't care. You should get an alarm with a 2-way pager. Do not rely on the neighbors to help you when the alarm goes off. This way you will know. Just make sure to have your remote close to you when you sleep. I like DEI the best!

well that sucks! u were wondering why they would take you're registration, well now they know exactly where u live and when u leave youre remote for underground parking in there, they will be able to get into the apartment.
i suggest that you shave the door handles and have a remote to open your doors. if you do that then there will be no rods in your door to be able to slim jimm the door. This is what I do for a living...secure cars, If you need tips, message me or e mail me!! U can also get a paging unit that will tell you when your cars being broken into, when the alarm goes off, a little beeper on your key chain will sound and tell you wich door's open' what window, ect...

doesn't take much. just an inverter and a couple terminals under the door handle!

Glad I'm not the only one with a kind and human responce, although I thought we wired them right off the pole, 220. Hope everyone takes this as a joke.

Yeah typical punks... Well if you don't get a pager alarm soon, then in the mean time you can take your door panels off get a piece of sheet metal and buy and rivit a piece so that they can't slim jim it, where? right by the door handle where the lock is to prevent it form opening. Your best bet is to get that pager alarm asap. Compustar is pretty good.

Okay, just so you guys know, the window on the front doors can be pried open just enough so that you can grab on to it and pull it back with your fingers and then stick your arm inside and unlock the door...I do it all the time because i tend to lock the keys in mine.I've done it with just a quarter or a screwdriver. You don't need a slim jim, the entire process takes like 15 seconds. So screwing the door handles up won't do anything.

hope your for real??? Anyway, a simple diomond bit carefully throuhh your upper frame and glass , plus a one eight pop rivet will throw them off if painted. Hope your not looking for easy access. Wayne

i noticed someone wrote about the electric fence idea....that works partially. it does screw everything electrical in your car. but at the same time, you will know who is breaking into your car...it feels like it breaks every bone in your body, your mind goes numb. eyes go dim, blurred vision is nothing close, and then blank....all this from a simple 6V flashlight battery wired just the right way. wired from the car battery and it is double all that, plus it will they will get a good JOLT from the cars coil as well. again, your car will suffer some consequenses...and, a simple lamp cord....car suffers severe damage, but the thief will not be sayig much. it is not humane, but then again neither is breaking into someone's car and stealing thier crap. if you have time, and wish to think it through you can set it up so when the car door opens, a circuit is broken, down goes thief. stun gun really works well for this, and through the metal of a car, it really magnifies the jolt...but again, this is just for......not for reality, i suppose....
