Changing Oil Reminder On 99

i have a 99 1500 ext cab i was wondering how i can change the amount of miles the oil change service light comes on at. i was told from factory in my truck its about 4200 miles it comes on. i like to change my oil every 3k is there anyway to have it come on after 3000 miles?

It is based on "engine hours"
As far as I know there is no way to change the setting.

Mine has come on 4 times since new and I have 44,000 miles.
