I don't know why, but everyone that I talk to seems to think it's funny that I want an automatic integra. I'm going to be bracket racing, and for that you need a consistant car, automatic is definately more consistant then manual cause the shifting is always the same. I know alot of people think manuals are 'cooler' and 'more fun' and can even get a little bit higher speeds, but it's not that big of a deal to me. so tell me, am I getting made fun of because people are ignorant and don't know any better when I tell them that I want to race, or is there some secret that no one's telling me?

wow. you are way wrong on this one. the integra auto shifts like ass. even car and driver and consumer reports will say the same. it shifts hard and lags like hell. if you want consistancy...the auto will be consistantly bad. auto's are good for Z28s and a few other V8s....Integra autos=pure shit. if you wanna waste your money...be my guest but you will be a complete idiot b/c the auto tranny shifts like shit.

When it comes to consistency, theres a lot more to it then that. At least with manual you control it a little more, plus you can do more with less. You're entire engine and its condition, the tires, cars weight(you're weight if you wanna be picky), road, road condition, weather(wind), gas and when you hit down the gas must also be consistent. I don't know how much those factors will affect it, but there's also a lot of factors you can't control. So just remember that too when choosing. It's up to you though, so do whatever will make you happy. But I've always heard the ladies like a man who shifts :evillol:

im sure it does, but as long as you dont SUCK at driving a stick, and dont try shifting as fast as anyone posibly could and dont miss a gear, you could probably get very consistant times with a stick, Id say the reason an automatic gets more consistant times isnt cuz of how it shifts, but the launch, in an auto, what do you do, light goes gren, you floor it, in a stick, you gotta work the throtle and the clutch, trying to a)keep the wheelspin to a minimum while b) trying not ot bog down the engine. the launch is where it is made, so get that down and youll have consistant times.
