...and then by the time you realized what it was, it was gone? :crying: That happened to me last night when I saw a Lamborghini Countach. I know it's not a "crazy" car, but still!

Countach's are far from ugly! forget the vulgar ones and look at the original; it's a beauty

in juneau alaska I saw a white countache and was completely amazed at the gall of someone to drive that in a state that gets so much weather, but it was one plastic looking ugly car. It's still exciting to see such an exotic, but I think lambo has done a lot better on their designs since the contache.

I think Lambo's have gotten too "clean". If the Murci or Gallardo weren't Lambo's that'd be fine, but - especially in the Murci - i wish they'd been a little more flamboyant, extravagant, a little bit of vulgarity wouldnt have gone amiss. That's why the Diablo's the one for me :)

a little bit of flamboyance is great, but I think that a smooth looking car without all those plastic little grills and stuff is better... you can do both in a car, and I think that the viper has done that.. it's so flamboyantly agressive, but it's still a smooth looking sports car. and yes, in my opinion a viper is an exotic car... it's not quite as exotic as an enzo, but it's still exotic

I agree that the Viper is "exotic", but I wouldnt call it a smooth looking sports car. The first Viper was a brute, the new one is nothing special (aesthetically) imo.

yes the first viper was a brute.. the 1st and 2nd gens were so agressive looking, but now the 3rd gen has toned it down a bit. i think it still looks agressive, especially from the front, but it looks a lot more refined now. All these new cars are using these angular patterns for their body styles, and I think to date the viper is the only one to contain these without being flamboyantly cheezy looking. but as you said.. it's all opinion.

The 360 has got to be one of their best works. I especially love the front fascia. The enzo's a little out there, but in the design there's a lot more function over form. But the 80's and early 90's ferrari's... hmm... They looked a little too "back to the future-ish" with the plastic extra's.. ya know? But that ferrari in ferris beuler's day off kicked major @$$. I want to see what the successor to the f360 is going to be. Now that the new viper's out there kicken @$$ then taking names later, I really think ferrari has to have something in the works for them to try and retain their "vette and viper killing" status. Especially with a 500hp c6 supposedly in the works.

(just cuz I'm a viper lover I have to post these)

Modena
est $150,000
390 hp
330 lb-ft
0-60 4.9s
1/4mi 13.4s
Skid 1.00g
Slalom 67.4mph

Viper SRT-10
est $80,000
500 hp
525 lb-ft
0-60 3.9s
1/4mi 11.77
Skid 1.05g
Slalom 70.4mph

For the price they're chargin on their Modena, they have some serious competition to check into w/ the viper. There isn't a single thing the viper doesn't have it beat on.

wow... I have gone off on a tangent. Bottom line. Ferrari is great, but they need a little bit more. I agree the 360 modena is a great head turner, but the viper will be goin so fast that you'll snap your neck trying to follow it. Plus the viper (IMO) looks crisper and meatier, but not as luxurious.

Ferrari's status isnt based on "kicking vette and viper ass", it's based on their prestigious history

Based on their "prestigious history".. I'm saying that I can't wait for them to come out w/ a successor to the F360 that will pack more of a punch. But let's also think about it this way. I'm from colorado, and the Avalanche got a lot of fans it's first and second years because of it's stanley cup wins... They beat a "prestigious" team that has "been around the block" Just because something costs more, or has a history doesn't mean they can't do better, ya know? I'm a viper fan through and through, and yeah dodge doesn't have anything on the Enzo. But I think that as far as (I know this is such a horrible combo) economy exotica (?) (let's say exotics under 200k) then Ferrari's slacking the line. Don't get me wrong... the F360 is on my top 20 list of cars I dream about. I guess I'm saying I want more from a company that I know can deliver more.

I'll look it up later cuz I have to leave town. But what's the price tag, can anyone order it at their local ferrari dealer, and is it street legal?

Venom: a 425bhp road version of Ferrari's 360 Challenge race car

Yep, it's street legal. I think it costs about $200,000, but don't quote me on that.

yeah.. I just got the new road and track in the mail the other day and I looked it up. I'll give it to ya it's a legit contender w/ the viper and it's a street legal production car, of that extra 120k over the viper how much of it do you think is exotic taxes and import costs?
