want to get to that eclipse kit, I have some ideas I want to throw at it, but the R32 was calling me so...

will be built as a NISMO version when all is said and done-

5 coats tamiya light-gunmetal on top of a couple coats of grey primer. pictures don't do the paint justice. Its my best paintjob yet, baby smooth w/ only 2 small imperfections :banghead: . after polishing I think it will be real purdy

chk that SAS carbon fiber valve and cam cover :grinyes:

Im thinkin the NISMO LMGT4 rims that come with the R34 VspecII kit. I'd order them from tamiya. open for suggestions, though keep in mind it is a NISMO car so i'd be most fond of a NISMO wheel for this application

almost finished so here's an update.

I haven't polished the paint out yet. looks good though, but I will polish and wax when Im done.

Still some work to be done on the engine bay. I haven't done the brakes yet. haven't gotten ahold of the NISMO decals I would like to use. I like the rims for now, but eventually I will switch to LMGT4's. gotta do the GTR badge touch up the molding/window trim etc..

getting close though... let me know what you think.

very nice. front wheels look like they're sticking out abit, but it's okay. Looks real good in that grey, especially like with you did with the CF, is that SAS CF, how did you do the CF valve cover? Oh yeah, it needs a CF strut brace, IMO.

*EDIT* Forgot this: On that shot of the rear of the car, I look at it and expect it to lay down rubber and take off like on Car&Driver shows when they do the 0-60mph test.

Nice progress.

If you wanted you can get rid of the connecting tube since you have 2 seperate tubes to your oil catch can. Just a thought..

That's really nice! I love the colour and the CF work is pretty cool! But to best honest, I don't think the wheels fit the car that well....But it's just my opinion :D

thanks for the compliment. I agree, the wheels are kinda out of place, but they aren't here to stay. though they have grown on me after a while. :sly:

yeah I dunno. from my research I have seen so many different ways of running those lines. what do you think? I mean.. check these out for example.

2 into 1 then into oil catch

and this one.. you can actually see both lines going into the thing on the left.

its the tamiya R32 GTR.

is that SAS CF, how did you do the CF valve cover? Oh yeah, it needs a CF strut brace, IMO.

yes, carbon fiber is SAS. I applied a thin sheet over the top of the valve cover and used a papertowel or washcloth soaked in decal solution (softener) and applied lots of pressure to the decal with the soaked cloth then held it in place. took a couple tries but Im happy with the outcome :D

Im trying to work out a strut brace but the pipe from the turbo's to the intercooler is larger then stock and gets in the way so :dunno: any ideas?

does anyone have any opinion on the oil lines? can I leave them this way or are they routed improperly? nis.k.a?

I say leave them as they are. BTW, strut brace, how about instead of going straight across, run it similar to this:
...\_____/ <right strut
......^
Firewall

That's how the late 60's mustang strut braces were, and they worked quite well in my understanding.

The oil catch lines are fine. I was just saying you could get rid of the connectine tube if you wanted. IMO it looks better without the connecting tube but that's just MO.

As 86 said you could make a firewall or a 3-point STB. Have you tried making a risen STB like the Nismo? The Nismo piece peaks to clear the valve cover. In your case it would have to be sooner than that.

I would imagine you would have to use flat styrene and not cyinder so that the hood clears everything. Patience and experimenting is the only advice I have to offer.
