It's the same size as all other B-series (save for B16's which have shorter deck height) so yes it will fit with a turbo. B18B would be a better choice due to thicker sleeves if you're going turbo though.

I agree 100% with boosted331 the B18B would be a better choice because the cylinder walls are too thin on a B20 for turbo. The B20 is the exact same motor as the B18B except it has a bigger bore. Everything else is exactly the same.

why is the b18 better than the b20 for turbo........ive heard several different opinions on this and was wondering if b20 turbo would be as good or better than turbo b18 if something such as block guard was used......or if i closed the deck......what yall think???? any suggestions????????
thanks fellas

B18 will, more than likely, last you longer than a B20 for a turbo setup. You can use a block guard which reinforces the sleeves, but that doesn't change the fact that they're thin and weak. Closing the deck = sleeving, and at that point it doesn't matter if you get a B18 or a B20. If you're gonna sleeve it right off the bat get whatever block is cheaper for you at the time.
thanks fellas

Who said anything about a B18C1? If you go turbo how much boost are you looking to run? And how much HP? Than we can give better advice based on that.

i was wanting to run a built (pistons, rods, etc....) b20/vtec with drag 3 turbo with the t3/t4 turbo on 12 psi daily and maybe 18-20+ for track use. i was wanting somewhere in the 280-350 range for hp. also, what would be better for this b20/vtec, b20 without vtec head, or any other suggestions on engine that should be used?
thanks

If you are going to sleeve it, get whatever is cheapest for you, but a B18C5 block would be nice for squirters and slightly shorter stroke than LS/B20. If you don't plan on sleeving don't run a B20 because the sleeves will crack on you.
thanks

you obviously dont know how much 12 or 18-20 psi is...so i shouldnt even help you but im going to....
1st of all...LS/Vtec=best turbo...but i dont like them b/c ls/vtec is just one more variable into the equation that isnt necessary. i would suggest sticking to a B18b1 block. get JE 9.1 pistons and cower rods. you should be good to about 15 psi on 93 octane gas or maybe 16.5 psi on race gas. to get in the 20 psi range you are going to probably need to sleeve your engine. unless you dont mind blowing your engine up...then i suggest running 18-20 psi on an unsleeved B18B1...just plan on replacing the motor... i dont know how much money you have...but if you dont have crazy money to spend....i would stick to an b18b w/ je 9.1 pistons and cower rods. then you can run 12 psi daily and 15-16psi at the track...i personally wouldnt go any higher then 18 psi but i would also have it tuned at both 12 psi and 18 psi on hondata and just swap the chip when i wanted to go to the track.....thats my 2 cents...if you dont like it...go fuck yourself b/c you dont have a clue what is involved in turboing a car up to 20psi.

What about the new Dart blocks? These look like great platforms to build on. Honda Tuning built a turbo B18 on one of these blocks and got over 500 HP out of it. I don't know what grade fuel they were running, but that ain't bad. Also I think I read that the blocks have the oil squirters. A bit expensive, but worth it if you're gonna crank the boost up.

no most of us would rather not help u now, cause afterall u come on here and disrespect us and he said it wasnt worth his time trying to explain something to u through posts, it would be easier to just search on here to find answers like that, and u came back and verbally attacked him. so if u want help u gotta respect the people that have been here, cause u have already lost a lot of respect now, and u will be lucky if u get much more help from this site, because many people that are on here frequently like myself are not gonna help u because of something like this.

whats up with this???? :uhoh: i searched many times before and found helpful info. but none about the exact terms of what i wanted to do. i cant beleive that its all being blamed on me now. i come on and ask a simple question to LEARN about something and then he comes along making it out like he's doing me a huge favor by even responding to the post. if he doesnt want to fool with newbie questions maybe all the veterans of this site should ban all newbies because thats what newbies do, they ask ?'s that dont seem too relevant. damn esp i always thought you were a nice guy by all your posts but i guess i was wrong  , when just because im new i get flamed, criticized, and mistreated when asking a simple question. :banghead:
