Header Problems

I installed Eidelbrock headers on my '87 S-10 2.8 because it needs all the help it can get. Unfortunately, The front header bolt on the left side keeps breaking. Its the one that has to be long because it supports the Alternator bracket. I put the spacer in so there is no play but it still breaks. Have any of you had this problem? And if you did what corrections did you make? Thanks

My bolt was just gone one day and now I can't put it back in, without drilling, because the metal has shifted slightly. It hasn't been a problem though. There is no exhaust leak coming from it. Shouldn't matter as long as the other bolts stay tight. I can't remeber exactly what I did with the alt. bracket off the top of my head. The guys who put my headers on left the bracket off and this is a big no no. My bottom cast aluminum bracket broke and I had to replace it and put the upper bracket on. I found another way to bolt the upper bracket though, but I can't remember how without looking at it again.

Gomezy3k, if you have an automatic does your driver's side header hit your shift linkage when in drive? The noise is driving me nuts and I don't know what to do about it.
