I need help installing short ram intake 99 cav...please

I have a cavalier 2.2l 1999. I just received the short ram air intake I ordered, I'm not sure how to install it. I would like to know if anyone knows if you have to fully remove the original air intake plastic housing, and connect the short ram to the throttle body, or if you connect it to the plastic housing. Any help would be appreciated, thanx.

yeah you have to remove the original intake including the plastic cover where it says 2200

the intake will probqably also touch the top of the hood a ilttle when u close it, but its no big deal, just make sure your clamps are on tight

I also have another question..... I would like to know how to remove the needles on my guages so I can install my new reverse glow guages. If somone can explain in detail or send a link to a diagram or something I'd really appreciate it.
