Montoya crying again

Now, in my opinion, this is just getting pathetic:

Juan Pablo Montoya has accused Heinz-Harald Frentzen of helping his fellow German and five- time world champion Michael Schumacher win last week's Italian Grand Prix at Monza - a victory that could have a major impact on the outcome of this year's title race.

Now it's no secret I'm neither a M.Schumacher nor a Ferrari fan, but if JPM wants to be a worthy title holder he needs to grow up and deal with what happens on a Sunday.

The fact that it took so long to cry foul about it makes you wonder even more, did it really take him a couple of days to come up with this story?

I agree, and didn't MS marry Frentzen's exgirlfriend? Seems like that was a point of friction beween those two years ago, I doubt they are brothers in arms.

Should JPM complain about being stuck behind Ralf in Canada also?

JPM should spend less time making lame excuses and spend more time trying to fight for the title :shakehead

This sort of thing this does nothing but detract from his image as one of the top drivers. Once upon a time it used to be considered an essential skill for drivers to be able to efficiently make their way past backmarkers.

Yes, Frentzen did hold him back, but it wasn't THAT bad, can't be more than a second (considering the gap to MS before and after. And HHF and MS has had a long history together, little of it is amorous, so he'd be the last person to try to help MS.

Sauber helping Ferrari?

Juan-Pablo speaks only the truth. He didn't claim anything more happened that actually did. Some other drivers in similar stuations have claimed 10 seconds lost in three corners! The title of the article is a stretch at the least, check who actually said what.

Agreed the incident had no real outcome on the race but nobody can deny it happened.

Who's denying it? But like hell it was done on purpose (Frentzen says that he had oil on his mirrors and moved over as soon as the team informed him over the radio as to who was behind him). If anything, Baumgartner held JPM up more than Frentzen. And he also held up MS. Is Jordan also helping Ferrari? Isn't Vodafone sponsoring Ferrari? ;)

Read a few posts above yours Alex.

Entirely possible and just a bit fortuitus that it took exactly three blue flags for him to get the message

Sadly, if there was a few bucks in it, I wouldn't put anything past Eddie.

Something in my engineers mind can't fathom how he would get oil in his rear view mirrors during the race, unless he was driving backwards.....and if he did have oil on his mirrors, why didn't he have them wiped off during the pit stop?

Somebody draw me a picture.....

Perhaps the oil is standard fitment and it is opaque to all colours except dayglo orange?

Yup, they call them Petronas so people won't notice.

They use a rebadged 2002 Ferrari engine.

Yes they are. But not for the reason you stated.

Why are they renamed? Does it have anything to do with the Petronas Towers in Malaysia?

Well, the towers belong to the Malaysian Petronas oil company, and that company is the title sponsor of the Sauber F1 team. I'm sure they pay the bill for the engines (not a small bill, mind you!) and have the right to rebadge them as they please. In 2001 the Prost also used year-old Ferrari engines and they were rebadged as "Acer" engines for the same reason. If next year Mercedes start supplying another team, Norbert Haug already stated that they will not sport the "Mercedes Benz" name as they want to preserve the exclusivity with McLaren, so the team that purchases the engine is pretty muh free to call them what they want. But it's NOT because they don't want people to notice.
