Remote Car Starter

I purchased a Toyota Corolla 2004 one month back. I have already a keyless entry system that came with the car. I would like to add a remote engine starter . I would also like to install remote trunk opener, heating or Ac starter if it is at ll possible. I have the following questions:

What would be the cheapest way to do that? I really do not want to install it myself. I would love to that but a new car is too much to risk at more me.

Should I buy the system online (good online retailers?) and then take it to the professional installer?

My car does not beep when I lock the door with remote. Is it possible to make the car beep with the add on installion?

I would be ever grateful if some one helps me with the info.

Man! I thought this forum is really active!

Did I ask some really dumb questions?

This was my first post and probably this last one also..

Gotta find some other forum where people might be a little more helpful.

You can easily and cheaply get a remote starter online or even at your local WalMart. I'm not sure how much installation is, but know that since your car is new, you might void the warranty by installing something like that.

If you do end up going for it, I suggest something that you can program your current remote to (ie. Pressing both door-lock and door-open buttons to start the car so you don't have to carry two transmitters).

As for heating and A/C starters - I've never heard of such a thing. All you would do is leave the heat or A/C on before you shut the engine off. A remote starter would start the engine as well as the heat or A/C.

Your car doesnt beep because you probably don't have an alarm on it. Its just remote entry; no alarm. Sure you could buy an alarm or wire it to beep; but keep in mind, you might be voiding your warranty.

Shop for a DEI unit (Viper, Valet, Sidewinder, Python, Avital) You'll be glad you did. You can either get new remotes which will give you the most range and features or actually use your own car's remotes.!
