I have just purchased a 96 s-10 with 4 cyl. auto. It has several codes being displayed. p.o. 300 p.o. 140 p.o. 753 p.o. 171 p.o. 1406. I have done tune up (replaced wires and plugs) runs alot better . I read that the ses code has to be manually reset. But after reading some of the other post I think I'm wrong . Any information on where to find more tech. info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :headshake

Follow up on problem . Code 753 is transmisson code for shift circuit . It seems all 700 codes are transmissions, any way took to Blair's tranmission shop and they changed solenoids and serviced runs good now all lights gone . FYI Blairs is located in Dallas off Buckner. Ihope this helps other people don"t let a shop rebuild without first checking it out . If a shop says rebuild right away ask them to try to repair without instead of just rebuild. If they are a good shop they will respond . Not all problems require rebuild. Hope this helps
