So funny ive picked this up in anouther forum lol is funny how 1.8 has only 92 horse and he thinks 110 is so much petter lol and itz a true question hope yall have fun laughing :)
Auto Trans Performance(post #1 (http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=911134#post911134))Hmmm, I think my subject is an oxymoron...
Anyway, my lil Talon DL is getting up there in miles, so I've been looking for engine rebuild tips, kits, and etc. But, say I do get my 4G37 to become the 110HP beast I know it can be? Will my 145K mile auto trans be able to handle the increased power for very long? On that note, how similar (if not identical) to the auto behind (beside) the 4G63 (2.0) turbo and non-turbo? I include the turbo 4G63 because, after reading the turbo FAQ, I think it would be interesting to turbocharge a 4G37, although maybe not to the extreme output of ginsu417's, just to the 180 whp (100hp/liter) mark. As it drives right now, it is a good shifting automatic, although I do question the integrity of the torque converter clutch, as RPM at one speed on a cool day will be lower than the same speed, on the same road, on a hotter day. Well, I've rambled on long enough, so:
Will I be able to rebuild my trans to be able to handle the power I want?
And, does anyone have any advice to this end? And, yes, I'm lazy and want to keep my auto.
Thanks

Hahahahaha...
Damn, the 1.8l (1G) Eclipse RS only had 82hp?! And it's automatic? I thought I was in suckville with my 2G Eclipse GS (2.0 DOHC 16v, 140hp:naughty:). Maybe he should try that air filter box "tornado" from the infomercials... lol

you 4g63t lovin guys should show more respect for us 1.8L guys after all any rich asshole can just by a fast car, but what the hell kind of an accomplishement is that ,a true gearhead can takes a slow car and makes it fast. a 1.8 aint even close to being called a beast even I agree with you there, but if that is what floats his boat......
