1999 Castrol Mugen NSX

The Tamiya kit for the Castrol Mugen NSX represents the 1998 racing season, says the instructions. The instructions for the Pennzoil Skyline say it's for the 1999 year. I'm going to trust Tamiya on that. Since I'm going to buid both, I thought it might be cool to make a peice of grid or paddock to put them both in, as if they were racing each other. So, my question is: what differences are there between the 1998 NSX and the 1999 NSX? I imagine I would need at least a new decal set. Are there any major changes in the body, or wing, or wheel, or anything else that's painfully obvious?

I've searched a lot, but whenever I find pictures of the cars, they don't have the year on them, so I don't know what changes went when.

Thanks.

The front is different, has an oval like opening and the rear tapers at back. The wing was a one piece item too i believe and liveries were changed obviously. I looked into all this a while back coz i fancy doing a t/kit to update the Tamiya kit, later updates would also be good to do but such a project is on the 'to do' list at moment. Studio 27 have done a few '99 decal sets, i have the 99 Raybrig which is real nice. I also believe they did their own t/kit for it as its mentioned on HLJ as OOP but i've never seen any pics of it.

Well, nevermind on that idea. The Studio 27 decal sets for the 99 car are OOP, so.... oh well. I'll just put them next to each other and pretend it's right...

I think the C/M NSX in Gran Turismo 2 is the 1999 version; I know it doesn't match the Tamiya kit exactly... Might look at that...

There's the '99 raybrig studio 27 decals available at HLJ.
