finally got my car dyno tuned.

yup yesturday i went to DRT to get my car tuned. as i originally said, my car was runnign really rich because of the larger injectors that i put in, and that i couldn't figure out how to tune the afc safely to get the thing to run good. so the initial baseline run was a dissapointing 186 at the wheels (around 240 crank hp). well after some tuning, i was actually able to hit a peak of 242 wheel hp ( 295 crank hp) but we could not get that number to come up again no matter how hard we tried. so we suspected that it was from the boost creep from the delta gate and that was creeping up to 10 psi. so we finally decided to settle for 232 wheel hp ( 284 crank hp ) and with a amazing 254 ft lb of torque at the wheels ( 310 ft lb of torque ). anyways thats not bad for a 4 cylinder only running 9 psi of boost eh? i'm makin more torque then a stock stang GT. anyways to explain that dip after full boost, it is becuase as soon as the wastegate sees 9 psi, it bleeds off alittle too much boost, as i was reading hte boost gauge on the dyno it hits 9 psi, then drops to about 7, then goes back up to 8. otehr then that my power curve would've been flat like a plateau.
sorry for the poor quality of the scan. i was using my chairman's personaly comp and scanner. so i didn't want to go too crazy.

Nice hp numbers, and actaully an 03 GT has 240 whp and 280lb-ft or wheel torque.

wow then i guess i remembered wrong. i thought the GT has 305 ft lb of torque. not 320. but anyways for a 3000 dollar setup its not bad. :naughty:

not bad Tat! Congrats mate.
What boost controller is running your wastegate? It sounds like a mechanical one. I've never been a fan of mechanical controllers. Also remember you can achieve great results without running high boost numbers by changing the ignition timing at a given rev range. :)

Good job! With your stock gearing, you'll be tearing it up soon;).

nice buddy...
its kinda weird seeing the torque numbers higher than h/p (used to seeing 243hp/165trq...)
when u think u'll build it a bit more to turn up the boost a touch?

thats cause its a KA24det and not a Sr20det...... isn't that right RAZORGTR.....

NICE numbers, Tat! Man.. thats so awesome. I think I'll take a turbo KA too... except, it'll go in my 510 :iceslolan
Nice hp numbers, and actaully an 03 GT has 240 whp and 280lb-ft or wheel torque.
According to www.carpoint.com, the 03 GT has 260hp@5250 and 302 lb/ft @2750. And I doubt that those are are figures at the wheels.

you're right those aren't figures at the wheels, at the wheels it has 238 hp and 279lb-ft of tq Muscle mustangs and fast fords did a drag test on an 02 mustang GT and before they ran it or made any modifications they dynoed it and those were the #'s they got on a completely stock brand new GT.

280ft lb at the wheels. that is around 320 at the crank. well torque is the main thing v8's are known for. but yeah if you have a turbo KA in a 510. that is a sleeper. with the power that i'm making in a 510 you'll probrably be in the low 13's.

the problem with advancing the ignition here is that we have much lower octane that you guys in NZ and i've seen quite a few people advancing it a bit too much and getting detonation.....so our options are more limited here

hmmm i think our octane should be the same, its just that goes by a different rating.
