Eclipse GSX vs Z28 Police car

This was two years ago so it's a little sketchy, but I'm not bullshitting. I just remembered this race we had when I was in Fort Gordon, Georgia in AIT (school training after basic) with the Army. My buddy had a '99 silver GSX with a few mods on his stock turbo rounding it out to around 300hp or so. Anyways down there they have undercover police cars (lights were behind the windshild) and this younger guy pulls behind us on some road, then next to us at a light. "So, got a GSX huh? Is it fast?" My buddy said "um, yeah it goes..." and the cop starts revving and smiling. He followed us up on the freeway and we took off on a 3 count. We ended up taking him by a couple car lengths from about 50mph up to 100mph (didn't wanna go overboard, we were racing a fuckin cop!) and slowed back down. He came up next to us and gave a thumbs up and everything. He was cool as shit :)
btw this guy's Eclipse was pretty damn fast, probably the 2nd fastest car I've ever been in aside from an old 700hp muscle car. AWD owns.

Would have been fun to see what happened from a stop... :naughty:
All B4C equipped police-package Camaros have automatics, so that hurts them a little from the git go. In a magazine recently, they clocked one at 14.1 in the quarter. That's not bad for most cars, buy I'd pull away from it quicker with my 1/4 times. The only differences between a B4C Z28 and a stock Z28 are anything the buying department wants to change with it, and the suspension changes. Not much difference between the two...

I was stationed down in FT Gordon for 3 years and that has never ONCE happened to me. I've had a cop pull me over for speeding and ask me what did I do to my car cause his son had a CRX that he wanted to make faster, but that was about it. I've heard stories similar to that but that cop must be fired or on to a new career cause all the cops I dealt with down there were assholes and rednecks that get a hard on for pulling over huked up imports. Especially the MP's, they fuked with me the most. It was a few cars down there but the best cars were the civilian cars. Everybody else had either a stang, camero, or other domestic.

It's not unheard of, just not at all common on the street. I've got a bud of mine that's lived in the same place for a long time, and knows the local cops and some of the are state police. Sometimes they get together an go drag race on an air strip, cop cars versus his TA. I want to take part in it one of these days :iceslolan

Having lived in both Texas and Kansas, I know that both state's state troopers have Camaro and Mustang cars in their inventories...
Thing that sucks is that they generally are regular colors, not black and white, so you can only hope to see the side of the car to see the badging first, because generally their lights are inside of the cars...

California Highway Patrol has Z28's in the Inventory. They're all white with the CHP badging. They use them to patrol Highway 1, which is notorious for speeders in the twisty sections up north.

Illinois has some unmarked Camaros on the interstate. I've personally seen a white one, my dad said the only one he ever saw was blue.
In Florida, they got all kinds of undercover cars. Its pretty insane. my friend said he was pulled over by an Xterra with lights in the grille last year in Ft. Lauderdale. I watched a guy get pulled over by an unmarked Dodge pickup.
Speaking of cool cops, my freshman year here at FL A&M Univ., my friend Chad was sittin outside solo one night and got approached by one of the campus police. He thought he was in trouble (he had "plants" in his possession), but she (yes she) told him to get in the car, they pulled to one of the standard cop traffic-watch parking lots and had a smoke!!!
Yes, I know this is EXTREMELY hard to believe, and I didn't believe it myself at first, but tis true. I shit you not. But, I probably wouldn't believe me either if I were you.

I have seen a turbo-charged Volvo as a DPS-highway patrol car here in AZ. Ungoverned, some of those things can get near 180...
...I wonder if they turned up the boosthttp://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/evil_lol.gif.

For the Masters in Augusta, GA they import the best sh!t they can get their hands on. They had a BMW cop car blocking traffic with a Sheriff's badge on the side with no lights visiable outside the car. I think it was just a 318 or something in that same series. It reminded me of the M5 cop car in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 for PS2.

While travelign through atlanta a few years back with my older brother coming from florida we spotted a Georgia state police Bmw ...it was non other than an M3....wicked....hehe...back in marylnd i was pulled over once by a younger officer...i thought he was going to through the book at me for racing...instead he asked what mods i had done...(rx-7) was stock and he said he raced his camaro regularly on ritchie highway until he became a cop....figured he was bullshiting...then i saw him out one night.....although i dont think he was racing he was hanging out at the local mcdonalds.....down to earth police officers are hard to come by for me.....but there is always one ....somewhere...

"Street racing syndicate (SRS)" and "Need for speed: Underground" are going to blow Need for speed and the recent others out the water. (Automodelista, Tokyo Extreme Racing, Burnout 2, etc) Both of those games are going to come with a total customizing capability (body and apperance) and you can put turbo's on NA cars in SRS I heard. I wish you could do engine swaps like in Automodelista, just more realistic. What does the NFS points give you anyway? I beat the hot pursuit mode and the arcade mode and I don't remember anything about points ( i rented it).
