Airbag woes

Hi guys. I'm a new user here but anyways I have a problem w/ airbags. I currently have a 1994 Honda Civic hatch that I brought from Canada. However, I've just moved to California to work and one of the requirements to register my car in this state is to have a driver's side airbag. I know it sounds silly, but I've already went to the DMV and talked to people about this. Obviously, there's a lot of people who put on aftermarket steering wheels on. So my question is how do you guys get around this (for those that live in California)? Also, is there anyone in the bay area that could put in a driver's side airbag? I know it'd be expensive, but my car only has 40k on it, and it would be a waste to just sell it.
